BCT Employees give generously to United Way
Once again, BCT employees came through and gave very generously to this year’s United Way Campaign! The final total pledged was $20,547, which is more than $4,000.00 above our goal of $16,500. This amount also represents an increase of approximately $4,999, or 32%, in contributions from last year. Sixty-four employees contributed this year. In addition to the significant amount pledged, BCT is pleased and encouraged by the number of additional employees who participated this year than the year before (+15). We are also proud of our Harpers Ferry branch who conducted a bake sale with all proceeds going to the United Way.The theme for this year’s campaign was “What’s in your Heart” which shows that BCT employees care for their community and neighbors in the Eastern Panhandle who receive help from the various agencies receiving funds from the United Way.
The Bank also made a corporate donation of $16,500 to bring the total above $37,047 for the 2007-2008 United Way of the Eastern Panhandle campaign.
